Ancient Techniques, Lightning-Fast Results
The Vedic Math Workshop introduced students to the ancient yet highly practical techniques of Vedic mathematics. This session focused on helping learners solve problems faster, understand numerical patterns, and build confidence in mental calculations.
Through simple sutras and hands-on practice, students discovered intuitive methods that make math quicker, easier, and surprisingly enjoyable.
Students learned powerful multiplication sutras: Vertically and Crosswise Method for any two numbers, Base Method for numbers near 100 or 1000 (e.g., 98×97 in seconds), and shortcuts for multiplying by 11 and numbers ending in 5.
The workshop introduced faster division methods: Nikhilam & Paravartya Methods for base-friendly division that reduce long steps, and Straight Division Method—a clean, universal approach that makes division more intuitive and manageable.
Students practiced mental addition using simple strategies: adding left-to-right which aligns with natural thought flow, and the Completion of Whole technique where numbers are grouped to make tens—perfect for quick mental summing.
Learners explored subtraction methods removing the complexity of borrowing: the famous 'All from 9 and the Last from 10' sutra for instant calculations, and easy rules for subtracting from base values like 100, 1000, or 10,000.
