Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University

Established with the vision of delivering structured and progressive education in Art and Architecture aligned with the evolving needs of society, Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University was founded under Act No. 31 of 2008 by the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature.

India’s rich cultural heritage, profound philosophical traditions, and deep-rooted artistic legacy have long been admired across the world. Within this vibrant cultural framework, art and architecture play a pivotal role in shaping and reflecting societal values. JNAFAU stands as a dedicated institution that upholds and advances these creative disciplines.

Recognized as one of the first specialized universities of its kind in the country, JNAFAU is headquartered at Mahavir Marg, Masab Tank, Hyderabad. The university is uniquely focused on fine arts and the built environment, offering a diverse range of programs that blend tradition with innovation.

For decades, JNAFAU has been nurturing talent in classical disciplines such as architecture, painting, sculpture, applied arts, and photography. In response to technological advancements and changing societal demands, the university has also introduced contemporary programs including urban and regional planning, facilities and services planning, digital techniques, interior design, and animation.
